Diamond Contractors, Inc. was started by Lori Perry in 1994 out of a small upstairs bedroom in her home. For 20 years, they have worked extensively with numerous major national retailers to provide a wide range of new construction and remodeling services. They began as a remodeling contractor doing small projects for Taco Bell, Payless ShoeSource and Blockbuster Video, and quickly progressed to new tenant finish construction and eventually ground-up buildings. In a few of their early years, Diamond had the distinction of building more Blockbuster Videos than anyone in the United States. Since then, CVS, Payless ShoeSource, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Family Dollar have been their major clients. Diamond is licensed and insured in 42 states, and WBE certified. Having worked hard to earn a solid rapport with their clients and subcontractors across the country, the Diamond Team has gained the experience and aptitude to bid competitively and work effectively in every market.

In 1978, Bob Fortney and Bob Weygandt left their architectural jobs and invested $250 to incorporate as Fortney & Weygandt, Inc. Finding their way through the retail challenges of mall openings, the biggest lesson learned was that projects absolutely needed to be completed on time. In the early 1980’s Bob Weygandt moved back into his comfort zone of the architectural world, while Bob Fortney kept the company name and the passion he had developed for construction. A renowned leader and team builder, Bob Fortney hit the retail world hard, developing relationships with Radio Shack and GNC.
Two major turning points occurred in the 1990’s, each providing the groundwork for significant future growth. The first was the development of a relationship with Applebee’s, a union that has stood the test of time and began our venture into the casual dining segment. As recently as 2009, Fortney & Weygandt built 20 restaurants in five states - from California to Connecticut. The other came to be via Revco Drug Stores, a local northeast Ohio chain that required assistance with rollout services and special projects. When Revco D.S. was acquired in 1997 by CVS/pharmacy, Fortney & Weygandt developed a plan to quickly convert the 1800 Revco stores into the CVS format. The program has become a benchmark for store acquisition conversions nationally.

This included: potable water and sewage treatment plants, water reservoirs, pumping stations, nuclear and fossil fuel electric generating stations, and bridges. As infrastructure was coming to a standstill, Wm. A. Randolph refocused its attention to building construction.
